the Levee Breaking

Moxie

At the age of eight, Moxie created a sculpture by melting plastic army men in an easy-bake oven. That’s the day she became an artist, and she’s looked at the world differently ever since. Although she thrives on all forms of creativity, once she learned to needle felt, she stopped doing almost everything else.

Experimental and entirely self-taught, Moxie is a fiber alchemist, joyfully perfecting the ability to transform fuzzy wool fiber into rock solid art objects. Her work uses no water, knitting, sewing, embroidery or glue... she creates everything from finger puppets to large scale sculptures using only her hands, wool fiber, industrial felting needles and time.

When Moxie felts a pickaxe, a puppet, or anything else, she does it because she has no choice. Interpretations she leaves to you.
