Chris Riffle

Chris' strong connection to folk music spawned from growing up in a musical family. If his dad took a break from singing his own folk songs, his mom would pick up her guitar to sing a Donovan cover. These unique experiences helped him to develop his individual style and craft while proving to him the importance of having a community, an essential theme in his songs.

Chris hit the ground running, opening for acts like Death Cab for Cutie, Mary Lou Lord and Dub Narcotic Sound System, making a splash on the Bellingham, WA music scene. Shortly after moving to NYC, he released an album featuring Antony and the Johnson's cellist, Julia Kent, and mixed by three time Grammy winner Steve Rosenthal. The CD release party for Introducing was very well received by a 'standing room only' packed house at The Living Room. A Q&A session with well-respected music critic, John Norris, has recently been posted on Chris' website. Introducing has also been charting on several college stations and WGTB, a reputable D.C. station, picked Chris for their Artist of the Week then went on to say, "Catch him before he's a big deal-- he's not even on YouTube yet. Seriously."
